FPVs may not be the massive solution but loitering munitions definitely are. The battlefield will be very hostile for helicopters but if they act as quasi command centers like envisioned for the Bell invictus then a smaller force of helicopters for PAA would be enough.

You can let a brigade of paramilitary college recruits handle FPVs.

Agree on loitering munitions. The Russians have been using ~$100k Orlon to spot for ~$30k lancet and for other recon purposes as artillery correction. No point risking risking a $16 million alligator when you can't the same job done in few hundred thousand dollars.

But FPVs are no lightweights regardless of their actual weight 😭. They aren't justvanti armour but also anti infantry, anti bunkers almost everything else on the battlefield. Not to mention they make using snipers obsolete. Why deploy a recon unit that can in most scenarios only hit at max 1.5kms, if they are lucky enough to hit the target at the first shot/s, when you can hit multiple targets at 5-7kms, even if they move or take cover, all while sitting in cover or bunker yourself. Simo haya claims to have 500 kills. There are FPV drone operators in Russo-Ukraine war who have flown in drones in greater number that. Most likely kill count in four digits.

I am sure in the near future the modern armies are going to make sure there are FPV/Or other drone operators in their squads/platoons. The age of low tech and low skill infantry is over.

Exactly! 5kg shaped charge on da Lancet destroys da engine from up top, next one blows of the wheels/ trunnions/ tracks and it’s dead in de swamp.

Much has changed and now IDF fielding its first AI operated android UCV’s…..

Until da last decade we had a control APC a few miles behind with R/C back up for taking the final decision for a kill shot/ RTB……but now I believe even that would be fully on AI.

Personally Gaza War has proved that even an RPG if we'll made and specially if we work on some new warhead which is far more destructive even an RPG can really take on a Tank plus we need something similar to USA javelin. Turkey and China are our way forward.
