To be fair, it's probably more about classism than ethnicity or religion. This happens in all countries where the rich like to avoid looking at the other half.

I am as guilty as anyone else, although the definition of 'rich' is always up for debate.

Not sure about the real estate market there but it says those apartments go for 19 - 27 lakh (10 lakh = 1 million) .. not exactly exorbitant, very lowish - middle class, but it could be the other area is a bit of a slum so they want a wall. Could also be that there have been law and order problems, break ins, theft etc...

not enough info.. some people are too eager to jump the gun and blame bigotry and x/y/z phobia.
