So let assume your raptor of the east can detect J-20 let suppose 90 to 100 km (J-20 is a LO/stealth jet) tracking and engagement range is much shorter than detection range and your BVR have not sufficient range to reach J-20 before J-20 fire its BVR (PL15) at 160-140 km (nez (NO ESCAPE ZONE IN MIND) so you're raptor of the east MKI has no chance to destroy J-20 your R77 (80 km) means its NEZ much shorter maybe 60-50 km and same goes to Astra Mk1 (110 km its NEZ will be 80-90 km) same goes to your I-DerbyER

J-20 has no need to come close to your mighty IAF jet J-20 will launches PL15 from 160 km away and turn away, you have only BVR comparable to PL15 is meteor but it only has range of 150 km so no escape zone of meteor is much less than 205 km range of PL15

No he didn't state that. Nor is it going to be more advanced in all aspects. Just being able to carry more BVRAAMs does not mean more capability.

It will have certain features that even the Rafale may not, but in general terms, the Rafale is the best 4.5 gen fighter out there today. It is mature and in service, the Tejas Mk2 is still to fly.

In fact, it is exposure to the Rafale that will set the bar as far as Tejas Mk2's capabilities are. Spectra level EW, RBE2 level AESA radar, FSO level IRST, a superb man machine interface, all these are things that the IAF is now intimately aware of and will want the Tejas Mk2 to achieve that level of sophistication.

Where do you think the Tejas Mk2's side stick requirement came from? From IAF pilots having flown the Rafale with it's side stick and seen the difference in terms of how it is to fly versus a center stick, like in all other IAF fighters.
